Large, unorganized systems of individual agents are common sources of inefficiency. Though centralized control for such systems is desired, this is often infeasible due to system overhead, agent mobility, and other factors. An alternate solution is a distributed control scheme where all agents operating in an environment share a common set of control laws that result in a desired behavior. For the purpose of testing distributed control laws in the real world, a cost-effective but flexible platform is required.
Our goals are to design a low-cost sensor-enabled networkable vehicle platform.
When a functional platform has been completed, we plan to make the plans for the platform available for educational use.
