V2X communication platform for cooperative vehicle control
Cooperative autonomous driving enables great performance improvements compared to current vehicles. While most of the past research has focused on safety aspects, we are currently exploring the potential energy savings from automated and cooperative driving. For this purpose, we envisage an eco-driving control platform that integrates information from surrounding vehicles, infrastructure, and the cloud. The objective of this activity is to setup a V2X communication platform that integrates with our existing rapid prototyping platforms for vehicle control. While V2V communication will be the first objective, also V2I communication and connectivity with our cloud platform will be actively investigated.
