Drift, or high side slip cornering, occurs when a skilled driver intentionally maneuvers a vehicle to cause loss of traction in the wheels, but still maintains control of the vehicle. This project extends previous drifting work (e.g. steady state drift, drift parking) and focuses on transient drift in a new scenario, for example a figure eight drift or a tight 180 degree turn. (Refer to this video for maneuvers). The student would implement the algorithm on the barc platform (1/10 scale RC vehicle, more information here) for validation.
