Our research lab focuses on thetheoreticalandreal-time implementationaspects ofconstrained predictive model-based control.We dealwith linear, nonlinear and hybridsystems in both small scale andcomplex large scaleapplications. Our contributions include the discovery of fundamental theoretical results, the development of novel control algorithms and their experimental validation carried out with the help of coworkers from industries and universities. We deal with a wide range of systems in the automotive field, in the process industries and in robotics, including several full scale industrial problems.
Francesco Borrelli is the 2012 recipient of the IEEE
Control System Technology Award, which identifies outstanding
contributions to control systems technology either in design and
implementation or project management. Professor Borrelli was recognized
for the design, implementation, and commercialization of the OnRAMP
Design Suite for Powertrain Control.
